Last night’s finale to the Caribbean Premier League was exactly what the tournament organisers hoped for.

A full house at Providence, the vast majority roaring on the Guyana Amazon Warriors to break their five-match winless streak in finals at the expense of four-time champions Trinbago Knight Riders.

There’s the rivalry, the picong and yes, even a bit of animosity reverberating beyond the boundary and drawing politicians into references about each other’s currency, economy, crime and obviously, oil.
