History will be created at the Pan American Sport (formerly PASO) General Assembly which is set to get underway in Peru on Wednesday September 5th.
For the first time since its founding, the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) has been invited to present a report before the Americas region sporting body. The Pan Am Sport General Assembly will be held on September 5th and 6th in Lima. It's the first time that CANOC has been afforded such an opportunity.
CANOC President Brian Lewis is pleased with the opportunity afforded to the Caribbean association as it recognizes the contribution and role that CANOC plays in the development of sport in the Americas region.
Officially established on July 31st 2003, CANOC brings together all National Olympic Committees (NOCs) from Bermuda to the north, spanning the entire Caribbean archipelago through to Guyana in the south. CANOC’s membership covers the English, Spanish, French and Dutch-speaking Caribbean Olympic Committees.
CANOC also includes representatives from multi-sport organisations from the territories of Anguilla, Curacao, Montserrat, Turks and Caicos Islands, Martinique, Guadeloupe, St Maarten and French Guiana.
