The general assembly of the 21st Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) is underway in Doha, Qatar, beginning today. Over 1,200 delegates including representatives from 206 Olympic Committees, International Sport Federations and Olympic bid cities will be in attendance.

In his keynote address at the IMF High Level Caribbean Forum at the Hyatt Regency, Port-of-Spain, recently, Massy Holdings CEO Gervase Warner expressed the view that the current economic and social circumstances are a blessing in disguise and the wake up call the Caribbean needs at this time.

As I stood at Sogren Trace Recreation Grounds and looked at the hundreds of children from East Port of Spain and environs interacting in peace, while the hard core onlookers on the surrounding perimeter kept a visible presence, many thoughts and ideas came to my mind on Saturday.
